Unified voice of the hospitality industry in the region
Leeds Hotels and Venues Association (LHVA) is a membership-led, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting members with knowledge and valuable information to assist their businesses whilst raising the profile of Leeds to attract business and leisure tourism to the city. With circa 35 members across the city centre and the wider Leeds area, the Association acts for the interest of its members and is the unified voice of the hospitality industry in the region.
With an industry focused strategy, LHVA provides unique networking opportunities and facilitates collaborative partnerships through the delivery of business tourism events, associate membership and regular attendance at Conference Leeds, Visit Leeds and Leeds BID events.
A large part of the LHVA agenda focuses on developing teams and upskilling individuals working within the sector, as well as promoting hospitality as a career of choice. Working closely with Ambition Leeds, LHVA have recently produced a series of short films to highlight the variety of roles available within the industry for younger people. In partnership with Leeds City College (LCC) the LHVA Chef’s Academy was introduced; 10 Commis Chef’s were put through their paces during the six-week training programme which began earlier this year. Each session focused on a key culinary skill with a concluding four course dinner and presentation. The second cohort of the LHVA Chef’s Academy takes place later this year.
